As a result, they end up creating redundant and defensive bonds with others, whether deserved or not. In this way they deprive themselves of the joy of showing themselves as they are, without shields or masks. Also, they no longer experience the joy of forming an intimate bond with someone.

Worst of all, they eventually lead others to meet negative expectations in some way. A distrustful person can only arouse distrust and distance. It is a magnet for negativity that they surround themselves with. This results in a tense and defensive situation.

When a person doesn’t address his pain and expand on it, he ends up using it as an axis to turn around. People who have been hurt before always have a reason to mistrust others. There is a big disappointment behind their attitude. Very often it had to do with someone they loved or depended on deeply.

The rejection, abandonment, or damage came as a surprise to them. This is exactly what struck them the most. Being abandoned by someone they once trusted. Someone who has been the victim of such a situation often blames themselves and has no intention of being mugged again.

Every person has the chance to disappoint others and to be disappointed by others. No one goes through life without disappointing others. That’s because humans are neither angels nor demons. No one is perfect and everyone hurts someone sometimes.

Distrust in humanity does not make your life any easier. In fact, it’s even the opposite. It only makes your disappointment the central focus of your life and traps you. The way out is not to fortify your walls and start trusting everyone overnight. Rather, it is about returning to those moments that were so difficult for you.

You have to forgive and especially let go as a way to be at peace with yourself. If you trust someone and they cheat or disappoint you, then that action is personal to them, not you. Someone has wronged you because you have done the right thing: you trusted him.
