Where A Door Closes, A Window Opens

Where a door closes, a window opens

Life is full of opportunities, you just need to know how to seize your own opportunities. Sometimes we think that our whole world will collapse when something in our life comes to an end. However, you can also look at these situations in a different way. Perhaps these are just gifts that give us new opportunities to embark on another exciting adventure.

So now I suggest you do this exercise. Try asking yourself why a certain door in your life has closed. What wisdoms and experiences have been left behind for you and how can you use this knowledge to open a new world full of possibilities?

Why do doors close?

Door Close

Have you ever wondered why some doors have to close? Remember, we are of course talking about figurative doors. A real door can be pushed shut by hand, blown closed by the wind, closed by maneuvering the handle or just accidentally slam shut… the possibilities are endless.

Why do some doors in our lives close or why do we close them ourselves? We can think of several reasons for this, based on different scenarios. Let’s take a look at some of these:

  • A relationship comes to an end. When you feel like there’s no reason to fight for your relationship anymore, you often think about closing the door on this relationship. Where before flames and a great fire blazed, now there is not even a pile of ashes left.
  • A friendship breaks down. Sometimes a good friend can betray us ugly and leave us unable to forgive him ever again. In this case, we choose to close the door so that we can prevent this friend from hurting us further, and end the relationship in order to distance ourselves from the pain.
  • We quit our job. When we’re not happy with our job or when we have a chance at a better job, we often choose to quit our current job to explore new paths. Sometimes these are painful choices that are not easy to make at all.

What happens when we close a door?

In most cases, closing a door involves a lot of pain. If you have to leave your partner because there is nothing left of your relationship, if you have to end a friendship, or lose a job that you were actually quite happy with, if you have to move to another city… it can all be a lot cause grief.

Door Close

Let’s look at the circumstances that prompted us to close these doors. How did we get to this point? What happened that made me feel the need to leave my partner who was once the center of my life? Why do I have to leave a city where I was always happy?

Think carefully about these decisions and the reasons that led you to make these decisions. Don’t waste your time blaming others for the things that happen to you and try to accept your own responsibility too. There will always be something that you could have done better, that you should have done sooner or shouldn’t have done at all. Maybe not, but it is still important to thoroughly understand and analyze the situation, and to learn from it.

A window will open

Once we’ve closed a door and pondered the facts that led us to this situation, it’s time to explore new possibilities and enjoy the world unfolding at our feet. Use all your strength to embrace this world. There is still so much to do.

You went through a difficult experience of closing the door on someone or something that you loved, cared about, or that tormented you. You reflected on the situation and learned some hard but wise lessons. Use these new experiences now to look to the future with optimism and discover the new opportunities that are now presented to you.

You have more experience and wisdom. Use this experience and wisdom to learn from the things you did wrong and to avoid doing things like this again in the future. Learn from the times when you were on the right track and substantiate this knowledge with future experiences. Take advantage of all the possibilities that life offers you.

Nothing is over. Whether you have left a loved one or lost a great love, life does not pass. There is still plenty to do, lots of windows to open, adventures to enjoy, people to meet, jobs to get, cities to visit…
