The three keys to happiness according to Eckhart Tolle

Eckhart Tolle is a German spiritual author named by the New York Times as the most popular in the United States. In his work we find inspiring teachings about love, life and spirituality. According to Eckhart Tolle, we can achieve the state of well-being and happiness we desire.

According to Eckhart Tolle, acceptance, joy and enthusiasm are the three keys to happiness. Consciousness must flow through these three pathways. Anything that doesn’t come from there comes from our ego and can become destructive.

Tolle says he experienced a spiritual awakening at the age of 29. He suffered from a long period of depression and was on the verge of suicide. In his essay, The Power of Now , he emphasizes the importance of being aware of the present moment and not getting caught up in our thoughts in order to be happy. According to him, the present is the gateway to peace.

Is it possible to turn off that voice in our heads?

Most of the suffering we experience is unnecessary. We hurt ourselves by our expectations and restless thoughts, which we repeat over and over in our heads. It’s as if our minds create a distorted picture of what’s happening, and the universe reacts exactly that way.

If we don’t become aware of this and change our mental patterns, we create that reaction over and over again.

Do you really want to be happy? If the answer is yes, start by identifying who that constant voice in your head really belongs to. Is it yours or is it your primitive brain? Finding out who is really speaking is essential to finding satisfaction and well-being.

If you constantly think about the past, you will experience more of the same if you don’t let go of those thoughts. The past repeats itself indefinitely if you are not really present. This is why you need to ask yourself if those thoughts have a place in what you are doing right now.

The quality of your conscience is what shapes your thoughts. If you are focused on acceptance, joy and enthusiasm, your thoughts will reflect that. You don’t have to completely shut down your thoughts, but you do have to give them the right meaning to be happy.

Your thoughts are just beliefs. About 20% of it will become reality. So instead observe reality and do not feel threatened by fears disguised as thoughts.

Nothing that happened in the past can stop you from being in the present now. If it can’t keep you from being in the present moment, what power does it possess?

The keys to happiness according to Eckhart Tolle

How can you be happy? This question has haunted Eckhart Tolle for a long time. The noise of his mind became so loud and caused so much fear that his mind collapsed. The mental voice that frightened him was silenced and he no longer suffered from his thoughts.

Now there was more silence between the thoughts. This allowed peace and quiet to enter, bringing him a new concept of joy.

His advice to achieve that state of well-being is to accept yourself and live without submitting to the normal pattern of thinking. The correct interpretation of joy, where all happiness comes from, will make you understand that life is the greatest gift of all.

We must not forget that the most important thing about these three keys of happiness is the common thread of presence. We can always confront the present moment, but not the moments that are mere projections of the mind.

Therefore, you cannot confront the past or the future. These are the breeding grounds for grief. Dare to live in the present.
